Gavilanes
Sheltered Reef Dive with Canyons, Corridors & Tons of Marine Life
Gavilanes is one of the most protected dive sites in the Cabo Corridor, offering excellent conditions even during south swells. With a steady depth of 40 ft (12 m), it’s ideal for both beginners and experienced divers looking for a scenic, relaxed dive filled with canyon-like formations and abundant marine life.
This site is a hidden gem — not just for its easy conditions, but for the topography that keeps things interesting from start to finish.
🤿 The Dive
You’ll begin with a shallow rocky descent before following the reef line out to sea. The volcanic rock formations create natural canyons, chambers, and corridors, offering a fun and dynamic path to weave through.
Expect to spend most of your dive at 40 ft, with the reef slowly dropping off as you explore further. It’s a favorite site for spotting octopus, rays, and morays tucked into the crevices.
